Coastal Oasis: Sungai Klang (COSK) Advances Strategic Discussions at JC3 CFIL Capital Solutioning Lab Session 2

KUALA LUMPUR, 18 May 2026 — The JC3 Climate Finance Innovation Lab (CFIL) Capital Solutioning Lab Session 2, held at AmBank Hall, Bangunan AmBank, Jalan Raja Chulan, convened regulators, financial institutions, ecosystem partners, and strategic stakeholders to advance discussions surrounding the Coastal Oasis: Sungai Klang (COSK) initiative led by Planters International Berhad.

The session focused on strengthening the implementation, structuring, partnership alignment, and financing pathways for COSK as a large-scale integrated environmental infrastructure, river restoration, mangrove conservation, biodiversity protection, and environmental intelligence ecosystem for the Sungai Klang corridor.

Unlike a conventional focus group discussion, the session evolved into an active and highly collaborative exchange of ideas, where participants openly contributed perspectives on project implementation, financing pathways, environmental intelligence, ecosystem resilience, biodiversity protection, and scalable long-term stewardship models.

During the session, Planters presented the broader COSK framework as an integrated environmental infrastructure ecosystem combining restoration, river and coastal protection, smart monitoring systems, conservation infrastructure, and community-driven sustainable management approaches.

A major takeaway from the discussions was the growing recognition that MRV (Measurement, Reporting & Verification), environmental intelligence, ecological monitoring, and transparent verification systems are no longer optional features within environmental projects — but increasingly the backbone of credible, scalable, and finance-ready climate and conservation initiatives.

Environmental Intelligence

The facilitated discussion groups were co-led by participating financial institutions together with Planters, including CIMB Islamic, HSBC Amanah, Maybank, and OCBC.

The session also highlighted the growing importance of strategic ecosystem and technology partnerships in supporting scalable environmental restoration, biodiversity intelligence, and long-term environmental monitoring systems.

As part of the broader COSK ecosystem, Planters shared ongoing strategic collaborations involving Restor and Isometric, alongside other environmental intelligence and carbon ecosystem partners.

Coastal Oasis

Through the recently signed Strategic Partnership Agreement between Planters and Restor, both parties are collaborating on biodiversity monitoring, restoration transparency systems, ecological ground data integration, environmental intelligence development, and future landscape-scale monitoring initiatives supporting nature restoration and conservation outcomes.

The programme also featured an international funder perspective session by Restor during the official CFIL Lab agenda.
