Planters International Berhad Attends MASIC Space Solution Series #1: Eyes in the Sky, Sensors on the Ground

The event, jointly organised by the Malaysian Space Industry Consortium (MASIC), SpaceIn, and Geospatial AI, and hosted by MIGHT (Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology), brought together leaders from government, industry, academia, and technology providers to explore the growing role of Earth Observation (EO), satellite imagery, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Space IoT in enabling smarter, data-driven decision-making across multiple sectors.
The programme featured an insightful keynote address by the Director General of the Malaysian Space Agency (MYSA), alongside technical presentations showcasing how satellite imagery and Space IoT are transforming industries through real-time monitoring, geospatial intelligence, and advanced analytics. The event also provided an excellent platform for networking and fostering strategic collaborations within Malaysia's rapidly growing space technology ecosystem.
For Planters, the discussions strongly resonate with our ongoing work in developing the Active Forest Asset Management (AFAM) platform and the Coastal Oasis initiative. By integrating Earth Observation data with drones, LiDAR, environmental sensors, biodiversity surveillance, and Artificial Intelligence, Planters continues to strengthen its capabilities in delivering high-integrity environmental monitoring, Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV), ecosystem restoration, and nature-based solutions.
A highlight of the programme was the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Letter of Intent (LoI) Exchange Ceremony, where SpaceIn formalised strategic collaborations with several industry partners. Planters extends its heartfelt congratulations to the SpaceIn team and all participating organisations on this significant milestone. These partnerships represent another important step towards strengthening Malaysia's space and geospatial technology ecosystem while accelerating innovation across multiple industries.
